WHAT IS AN EMAIL ADDRESS?

An email address is the address used to sent and receive email. The email address contains your username, the @ symbol, and the domain name. If you are not sure about domain names, read the help centre section on domain names first.

An email address can use your chosen domain name or, if you are using a free email address such as BT, it will use the BT domain name. If you use a free account, your email address could look similar to john.smith@BTYahoo.com. If you owned your own business and wanted to use email accounts for it, your best option is to use addresses that matched your domain name. For example, we use the domain name uploadyourbusiness.com for our email accounts. Mine is marcus@uploadyourbusiness.com, but we also have the following:

For any problems you encounter with this web site - webmaster@uploadyourbusiness.com
For any technical questions you have - tech@uploadyourbusiness.com

Professional email addresses

Having email addresses that match your web site presents a more professional image. We could have used addresses like admin.uploadyourbusiness@BTYahoo.com, but as we have no connection with BTYahoo and the fact that you email addresses are so cheap, we decided to use our domain names for them.

Generally you get one free email account when you purchase your domain name and can add others for around £7 a year each.
